Nike Air Baltoro Low

Stopping by Turf this afternoon Kiya pointed out these "crazy looking" shoes I just had to see and my jaw nearly hit the floor - I first got these years ago when I must have been 14 years old or at least something close to it. I remember picking them up (in the high-top version) at Foot Locker outlet or some similar discount mart. At the time, no one was interested in some crazy looking Nike hiking boots. It was Nike's first foray into the outdoor market and they just didn't sell - instead, making their way to the Big 5 and shoe outlet shops of the world - but I loved and cherished them despite the looks I got from people. They were fly!

Cut to 15 years later and they're the new hotness for retro shoe lovers worldwide - except for one thing - they don't exist. Nike never made a "low" model of the Air Baltoro's. But I'm sitting right here, box in hand, purchased from a reputable shop. Made in Thailand, color: flint grey/varsity maize, size: 11. So what to make of this? Your guess is as good as mine. Perhaps I should hold onto to these ones. Asking price: $200 if anyone wants to pry them (unworn) from my cold dead hands.
